Using Television in the Classroom

There are many ways you can use a television in your classroom. A couple of ways are: to connect one lesson to another, to enlarge the text of something, view actively, spark new interests in topics, and prepare lessons for the next day. Using the television for all these things can benefit many students along with you as the teacher. Enlarging the texts of something could be for your students in the back of the classroom or maybe you have a student whose vision isn't very good, so you could use the television to their advantage without all the other students knowing why your using it. You can also use the television to show videos of something that relates to the topic that you're talking about that day or week.

I think that having at least one television within easy access of a classroom would be a good idea. This is because a lot of school libraries don't have very many DVD's, but they do have a lot of VHS's, therefore you can always access a television to show those types of videos, and the students will still be just as happy. There are many reasons teacher's should be able to get a television easily.
