In this article a teacher in Indiana, directs his students to work on research projects and they usually turn to the usual resources that we all would such as: atlases, maps, books, but we don't normally think about Kindles. Kindles are becoming a new technology that teachers are using the their classrooms more and more. This teacher is one of a few teachers that have began to capitalize on the slim, digital tablets to access and display digital books. Teachers use Kindles because they are bigger then the paperback books but yet smaller than a laptop, and are stocked with information and books at our fingertips, while normally you'd go to the local or school library and check out books; but if they didn't have the book you needed you'd have to wait. With the Kindles you can get a copy of any book at the tip of our fingers.
I agree with the strategy this teacher is taking, and placing the Kindles in his classroom. Placing these objects in the classroom and incorporating them into the curriculum can be very beneficial to the students. Ways it could benefit them are: 1. they will want to get more involved in class discussions, 2. would want to do more research and get more involved in reading, because they look at it as a fun way to read. There are so many benefits to having new technology in the classroom in today's curriculum.
